Breast Cream: a beauty product that could save your life
The World Health Organisation estimates that 400,000 lives could be saved every year through the early detection and treatment of breast cancer. But 57% of Kiwi women don't check themselves regularly. They don’t know how, or just find the whole idea weird and uncomfortable. So we wanted to give them a tangible way to make checking their breasts a regular habit.
Partnering with Skinfood, we created a cream that could save your life. But it’s not the cream itself that works, it’s applying it.
Breast Cream is a simple moisturiser that makes checking your breasts a part of your regular beauty routine. Simply applying it helps you look and feel for any lumps or changes that could be signs of cancer. So if you notice anything unusual, you can tell your doctor straight away.
Impact:
Reframing breast checking as a step in a regular beauty routine allowed young women to use a comfortable language to talk about breast cancer awareness, beauty blogs and review sites became active platforms for young women to share their advocacy and 45% of young women reported checking themselves more regularly.
Celebrating the glorious beauty of old age, and making it something women can aspire to if we make breast checking part of a regular beauty routine. This print ad a gold Lion at Cannes.
