New Zealand Truism
When the world looks at New Zealand they see paradise on earth. But despite appearances, NZ performs poorly across several international human rights scores. In reality, people’s basic human rights to housing, equal rights and fair pay are under threat.
Launched on International Human Rights Day, ‘New Zealand Truism’ looks and sounds just like a typical tourism campaign. Except juxtaposed against the images of stunning natural beauty are shocking Human Rights truths, aiming at shaking privileged New Zealanders out of their complacency.
Teaser posts put provocative truths out onto social media, and after the film launched, we followed up with a twist on the tourism ‘Must Do’ - setting out practical steps people can make to help make NZ better for everyone.
